History of Dainik Jagran News Paper 

 Purachandra Gupta founded Dainik Jagran newspaper in 1942 by. Dainik Jagran first copies circulated in the city of Jhansi (state of Uttar Pradesh ). It gradually expanded its editions to other cities like Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) in 1947 .  Rewa and Bhopal ( Madhya Pradesh ) in 1953 and 1956 respectively. In a second stage of growth, new regional editions are being published in Gorakhpur from , Varanasi , Allahabad and Lucknow (1979). In the 1980 they began to publish editions of Meerut (1984), Agra (1986) and Bareilly (1989).

In 1990, Dainik Jagran launched a local edition of New Delhi . Between 1997 and 2011, a new phase of expansion, new regional editions in cities in 11 states, including besides Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh launched those of Jharkhand , Uttarakhand , Punjab , Haryana , Bihar , Himachal Pradesh , West Bengal and Jammu-Kashmir .
